Mac Donald

Sigung Michael Mac Donald started his martial arts journey shortly after moving to California at the age of 9. Studying Judo first he then added Chinese Kung-fu to his training. Eventually, at the age of 16, he earned his blackbelt in Kung-fu and then Judo the following year. Coach Mike did not stop with two Black Belts in the true spirit of martial arts branched out to earning his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (3 stripe Black Belt under Master Carlos Machado) and his Black Belt in Sambo (Russian Grappling).

In 1990, at that the age of 20 Michael moved to Santa Barbara to continue his studies in Psychology and Law. It was there where he would meet one of his mentors and eventual Muay Thai instructor, Jan Ford.

In 1992 he started his fight career turning professional in 1994. In 1995 he decided to open his first martial art location. In 2005 Michael would retire from fighting.

Jamien has over 15 years experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and weightlifting. He is known for his positive attitude! You can always count on Jamien to guide you in the right direction for powerlifting and grappling advice.

Adam Alvarez

Adam Alvarez has been training Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and boxing for the past 8 years with Valhalla MMA, and has now progressed to a COach bfor our Striking and sparring classes.

Adam is hoping to make his debut in the ring this year!

School Teacher by day Bjj instructor in the evenings. One of our newest instructors, she found a passion and drive for martial arts here at Valhalla 6 years ago and has progressed to lead on the kickboxing floor and coach on the BJj floor.
